What is it?

Celebration is an exciting post-prom party for seniors that gives them one last opportunity to celebrate as a class. They arrive at the high school to find Main Street magically transformed. This year seniors will be treated to An Evening in New York, featuring Times Square and Central Park. Seniors will enjoy a party featuring a DJ, a magician, a casino, prizes, caricature artists, photo postcards, tattoo artists, karaoke and more!

When is it?

Celebration will be held at Newton North on Friday, May 31, 2019, from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.

What is the purpose?

The goal of this drug- and alcohol-free party is to keep our students safe while giving them a night they will always remember. Celebration has been a tradition at Newton North High School for over 20 years. Students, parents/guardians, and administrators agree that this safe and fun event has been an overwhelming success.

How can I help?

Preparation for Celebration is a community effort, as parents/guardians of all Newton North classes work together to ensure that this tradition continues for each class as they reach their senior year. There are three ways to help; try all three!

  1. Assist with Celebration preparations. Work with a team of parents/guardians in the upcoming weeks to prepare for Celebration. You can solicit donations of food or funds, help wiht logistics, or create the decorations to transform Main Street.

  2. Volunteer at Celebration. Join the festivities on prom night and help set up, run the party, or clean up after the event. We need upwards of 160 volunteers on the day and night of the prom. Recent Newton North graduates are welcome.

  3.  Make a donation. Celebration is a gift from the PTSO to our senior class. It is funded entirely by donations from parents/guardians, alumni, and community organizations and businesses. All seniors, regardless of whether they attend the prom, are invited to attend Celebration free of charge.
