Welcome from the PTSO—The Parent Teacher Student Organization

Newton North High School is a vibrant community with a broad range of opportunities for students. The PTSO offers this guide to help families understand how North is organized, where to go for help, and as a guide to extra curricular activities and learning opportunities. Keep this guide handy as reference throughout the year. In addition, for those interested in athletic programs, The Athletic Handbook will be available at Back To School Night, or at the beginning of your child's first athletic season. 

• The PTSO offers several educational programs throughout the year addressing common parenting issues in an open and comfortable format. Meetings are usually in the evening in the Library. Check the PTSO website at NorthPTSO.org for dates and meeting topics. On this site, be sure to sign up for e-mail announcements to receive communications from the PTSO. There are many opportunities to attend a variety of community activities offered throughout the year, which are not only entertaining and/or enriching, but are useful in learning about what is happening at the school and in your child’s world.  

• The School Council is an elected group of parents, teachers, and students who advise the Principal in the establishing educational goals articulated in the annual school improvement plan. The Council meets on the first Monday of every month at 7:00 PM in the Library and has subcommittees on which members, as well as, nonmembers can serve.
