2010-2011 NNHS PTSO Board and Committees

Executive Board

Co-Presidents	Sally Brickell Lynne LeBlanc	Coordinate and oversee activities of PTSO; serve as liaisons of the PTSO members and committees to the Principal, to the community and to the Newton PTO Council; serve as members ex officio of all committees; involved in program planning and the preparation of the annual budget.
Vice President, Programming	Mary Fitzgerald	This Committee brings programs and/or guest speakers to various PTSO meetings centered on issues at North. The Committee is chaired by one of the Vice President(s) who meet with the PTSO Officers and the Principal to discuss possible programs for the school year.
Classroom Grants	Edye Geringer	Coordinate the classroom grant program funded by the PTSO.
Co-Treasurers	Michele Winefeld Sherry Klein	Receives all monies of the Organization, keeping an accurate record of receipts and expenditures; presents a statement of account at every meeting of the Organization and at other times requested by the Executive Board; assists in the preparation of the annual budget.
Recording Secretary	Maureen Sullivan	Keep and post minutes of meetings

Committee Leaders

Appreciation	Jill Fischer	This Committee assists in the organization and presentation of three events for Newton North’s 300 dedicated teachers and staff, including a "welcome back" breakfast, a luncheon, and a year-end tea.
Celebration	Carolyn Judge Nikki Shearman	A Newton North tradition, parents from all grade levels sponsor this drug and alcohol-free post-prom party. Involves community members from all grade levels.
Classroom Liaison 2011	Mary Donchez Cathy Proscia	Coordinate events specific to class year and assist other class years as needed Senior Prom Senior Luncheon Transition to College Seminar
Classroom Liaison 2012	Liz Preston Marion Prokop	Coordinate events specific to class year and assist other class years as needed Junior Prom Mothers of Daughters, Parents of Sons, a seminar for parents
Classroom Liaison 2013	Kirsten Feldman Rose Mariano Donna Whitham	Coordinate events specific to class year and assist other class years as needed Sophomore Sleepover Mothers of Daughters, Parents of Sons, a seminar for parents
Classroom Liaison 2014	Lisa Cohen Helen Wong	Coordinate events specific to class year and assist other class years as needed Sophomore Sleepover Transition to High School, a seminar for freshmen parents
Educational Excellence Campaign	Anne Swager Marion Golin	Fundraising campaign targeting to support the academic experience at NNHS.
Membership	Holli Roth	Coordinate and maintain member information.
NorthSide Dining Adventure	Mary Lewis Linda McLaughlin	Community surprise caravan dinner scheduled for November 5th, 2010.
Student Faculty Administration	Kim Shanks David Stein Claudia Wu	This Board is a student/faculty-run government committee, which proposes policies to the Principal. This Committee meets weekly at 7:00 a.m. and invites two PTSO representatives to attend as non-voting members.

Student Showcase	Kristen Grannan Claudia Wu	Celebrate the transition to a new building in a carnival style event with demonstrations and performances from a broad range of talents at North. Entertaining for the entire family. Don't miss this delightful event.
Webmaster & Directory	Arnold Sodder Janet Porcaro	The PTSO web site provides a vital link between the school and parents. The updates include school and community information such as opportunities for the kids (plays, sports, clubs, etc.), messages from the Principal, calendar updates and more.
