Librarians share insights at Spotlight on Library Learning Commons, May 31

On May 31, Librarians Erin Dalbec, Lauren Italiano, and Kate Kennedy (see photos under the Librarians tab here) hosted parents/guardians for an informative session on how the Library Learning Commons is used by students, how librarians and teachers collaborate to enrich curriculum, and how the library promotes reading. They introduced attendees to a new resource called Flipster that allows users to read six magazines. Try out Flipster here. Two members of SLAC'rs talked about their work as student library volunteers. Thank you to Ms. Dalbec, Ms. Italiano, and Ms. Kennedy for taking time out of their day to speak with parents/guardians; and thank you to Vice Principal Amy Winston for covering the library during the presentation.

Twitter users are invited to follow the Library Learning Commons @nnhslibrary. The librarians tweet almost daily about classes, book reviews, and other library happenings. Learn more about the Library Learning Commons at

Attendees were also treated to brief remarks by teachers David Bedar and Cristina Schulze and Principal Henry Turner explaining how donations to Tiger Talks, this year's Educational Excellence campaign, will bring diverse speakers to NNHS. PLEASE donate to Tiger Talks here. Thank you for your support!
