Raise money to fight cancer during Hope Walks on October 1

Newton Wellesley Hospital’s Hope Walks, on Sunday, October 1, is a 3.3-mile neighborhood walk to raise money for Vernon Cancer Center. The walk includes a barbeque lunch, entertainment, sponsor stalls, and free parking in NWH’s visitor garage. Registration is currently $40. Check in is 9 a.m., the walk starts at 10 a.m., and the event ends at 12:30 p.m. You can register by going to tinyurl.com/NWHwalks and pressing the “Join Our Team” button on the upper-right side of the page. If you plan on participating, please send an email to Andrew Ding at andrew.ding@yahoo.com. Andrew is an NNHS student working as a liaison between Newton Wellesley Hospital and the Center for Civic Engagement in order to promote volunteer opportunities to students.

NOTE: Currently there is an issue with registration such that users are asked to set an individual goal of at least $100. This is NOT the fee that will be charged; it is $40 per walker. The correct amount will be confirmed later in the registration process. The goal has no impact on the payment made to register. Simply enter $100 as the goal, choose “join an existing team,” and search for the team “Volunteer Visionaries” under the name “Jean Kulesa.” We apologize for the inconvenience.
