After School Program supports struggling students

The After School Program is designed for students in need of additional academic support. Although the overwhelming majority of participants are in 9th grade, the program also includes 10th and 11th graders who may be struggling. Newton North staff oversee small groups of students, supporting them with homework completion, test/quiz preparation, time management, and organization. The program takes place twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays, after school from 3:00-4:15 p.m. Staff communicate with parents/guardians and classroom teachers.

Students who participate in the After School Program are also encouraged and able to participate in other after school activities, sports, theater, and clubs. If a student agrees to participate in the program, attendance is mandatory.
