Save the date: Two special programs offered by PTSO on February 13

6:30-6:50 p.m. E-cigarettes, Vaping, and Juuling: Know the risks for your teen

Learn about various forms of vaping currently popular with teens from two experts--Prevention/Intervention Social Worker Alison Malkin (from Newton North) and Public Health Program Specialist Teresa Kett (from the City of Newton's Health & Human Services Department).

7:00-8:30 p.m.: Making the Most of Your High School Years

Join the PTSO and Newton North experts for a discussion of how to help your teen get the most out of his or her Newton North experience. Topics will include course selection and the course registration process; teen development; and academic, social and emotional balance. As NNHS psychologist Dr. Steve Litwack famously stated, "It's all about the match between your student's interests and needs and what is offered at North."

Speakers for the session are expected to be as follows: Amy Winston, interim vice principal; Beth Swederskas, chair, Counseling Department; and Todd Young, chair of Fine and Performing Arts.

Both sessions will take place in the Little Theatre.
