Just Think Expo draws teens and families to learn about community resources

The 8th annual Just Think: Teens Making Smart Choices Expo, sponsored by the NNHS PTSO, took place on January 18 in two parts. During lunch blocks, interested Newton North students had conversations with representatives from non-profits about numerous topics including sun safety, dating safety, pedestrian and bike safety, mental health support, e-cigarettes and vaping, and marijuana myths and facts. They also had a chance to learn about local agencies with teen programs, including John M. Barry Boys and Girls Club, Newton Free Library, and West Suburban YMCA. In the evening, students in middle school and high school and parents/guardians gathered at Newton North to visit with non-profit representatives and enjoy refreshments, presentations, demonstrations, live entertainment, and prizes.

See photos from the expo on the Newton North PTSO Facebook page.

Thank you to all of the non-profits (see the exhbitor list at NorthPTSO.org) who attended the expo, and thank you to the many other people who helped in various ways! Please pardon any omissions.
