Women of Science team takes second and sixth place in state competition

Two NNHS Women of Science teams competed successfully in the 16th annual Women of Science Scholarship Competition at Bedford High School on December 8, One team came in second place and the other, sixth, out of 38 teams from all over Massachusetts. Team members had a great time building mousetrap-powered vehicles, studying famous female astronomers and astronauts, and speaking with female science professionals during a networking lunch.

"We worked really hard this fall while preparing for the competition," stated senior Jane Alandydy. "We are really proud of our achievements!"

The second-place medalists won $500 scholarships and several science books. The team's plaque for second place will be displayed in the trophy case across from the main office.
