PTSO supports teachers and staff with food, funds

The Newton North PTSO shows appreciation for hard-working teachers and staff throughout the year. In addition to hosting two annual Teacher Appreciation events--dinner during teacher conferences and refreshments for the spring Retirement Tea--the PTSO (through its class liaisons) hosts four TGIF breakfasts during the year (one per class). PTSO funds cover a monthly ice cream break for teachers and staff, and PTSO funds enable the principal to occasionally offer a boxed lunch or light refreshments for faculty and staff gatherings. Committee chairs thank teachers, staff, and students with refreshments as appropriate--for example, at the end of large events.

PTSO funds enable teachers to enrich their classrooms and their teaching through the annual Grants and Projects process, the Educational Excellence fundraising campaign, and at other times when a need is expressed. In addition, during Operation Bold Paint/Newton Serves, PTSO volunteers boost morale by brightening classrooms with painted accent walls. Thank you to the many NNHS families who pay membership dues, donate to Educational Excellence, and volunteer throughout the year to make these appreciation efforts possible!
