Newton North's first-ever History Team seeks funds for DC competition in April

Newton North’s first-ever History Team has had a very successful inaugural year thus far. The team’s Varsity and Junior Varsity divisions qualified for the National History Bowl Championship, while two members qualified for the National History Bee, three members qualified for the National Geography Bee, and one member qualified for the National US History Bee. These national competitions will take place in Washington, D.C., from April 25 to 29. According to team leaders Skyler Bohnert (Captain), Aram Brunson (Treasurer), David Genis (Captain), and Isaac Tang (Captain), "All members are eager to represent Newton North with pride and dignity on the national stage."

Twelve members of the team are planning to travel to Washington in April. They hope to "show the strength and passion of Newton North students." The team will need to pay for lodging, air fare, and registration fees, and they raising funds to cover these costs so all qualifying team members can participate without overburdening any families. Their target is $9,500.
