Student group travels to Greece to volunteer at refugee camp

Six seniors (five from NNHS, one from NSHS) spent two weeks in April 2019 helping a nonprofit called Happy Caravan at a refugee camp in Thermopylae, Greece. Days were spent planning; teaching English, art, music, and yoga; and helping children climb trees and play games like Duck Duck Goose. The group also left the children with a new slide, bridge, and swing set. Stated art teacher Eileen Gagarin, one of the chaperones, "We teachers could not be more proud of the maturity and creativity shown by students."
