The NNHS Center for Civic Engagement and Service welcomed U.S. Congressman Joseph Kennedy to Newton North on Friday April 26, 2019, during C Block in the Lasker Auditorium. A large number of teachers brought their classes to the presentation.
Congressman Kennedy has served the 4th District of Massachusetts since 2013. This district stretches from Brookline, Newton, and the western suburbs of Boston down to Taunton, Fall River, and the state’s South Coast. It encompasses 34 cities and towns, with a population of 725,000. Congressman Kennedy briefly described his work and then answered questions from students on topics ranging from climate change to immigration to student activism.
