Save the date: Retiring music teacher Greg Livingston to be honored on June 13, 7:00 p.m.

All Newton Public School families are invited to a special event on Wednesday, June 13, at 7:00 p.m., honoring music teacher Greg Livingston, who is retiring after more than 40 years of teaching in the Newton Public Schools. Bigelow alumni are invited to play in Mr. Livingston’s final concert or to send a note of thanks.

Please join Newton Cares at their spring event, "Never Worry Alone," on May 7, 6:00-8:30 p.m., at 345 Walnut Street in Newtonville. Listen to a panel of local mental health experts discuss the issues and challenges that can arise for our loved ones at any time across the lifespan. The emphasis will be placed on recognizing when and how to get help. Resource tables staffed by local mental health organizations will share information with attendees.

Needham Street Area Vision Plan open house to be held April 23, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Come learn about the Needham Street Area Vision, a plan by the City of Newton to envision the future of the area at an open house on April 23 at 27 Christina Street, Newton. Provide your input on the draft vision and meet with City staff and members of the Community Engagement Group who have been involved in the development of the plan over several months.

Opportunity for public comment on scenarios for adjusting school boundary lines to be held April 25, 6:30 p.m.

The final opportunity for public input on changes to student school assignments (adjustment of boundary lines) is on Wednesday, April 25, 6:30 p.m., at the Education Center, 100 Walnut Street, NewtonThe schools that may be impacted by these changes are Cabot, Horace Mann, Franklin, Peirce, Burr, and Underwood.
