Newton North TV students cover recent gun control events

Student producers Aidan Leary, Maya Mathews, and Tianna McToggart reported on the student portion of March For Our Lives on March 24, 2018, in Boston. Their video features Congressman Joe Kennedy III and Senator Ed Markey. The NNHS walkout to prevent gun violence on March 15 was covered by NNTV reporters Will Marsh and Evyatar Gershon.

Parents invited to workshop on raising resilient teens starting May 4

The Resilience Project at Newton Wellesley Hospital will be running a 6-week workshop for parents of teens focused on fostering resilience. The workshop begins Friday, May 4. All meetings are at Newton Wellesley and go from 8:45-10:00 a.m. The workshop, which is  skills-based, considers the following: 

1. What resilience is and how we, as parents, help our teens practice resilience

Newton Conservators offers nature walks and plant pulls in March and April

Join the Newton Conservators for walks and/or invasive plant pulls in Newton’s parks and conservation areas. All walks and invasive pulls last an hour or two, are free and open to the public, and are led by knowledgeable leaders. Invasive plant pulls are a great way to get involved with community service and give back to your community.
