Navigating the Cyber World set for March 27, 6:45 p.m., at Brown

Parents are invited to join the Brown Middle School PTO on Tuesday, March 27 from 6:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Brown Middle School Auditorium for “Navigating the Cyber World.” This will be an informative parent workshop sponsored by the Brown Middle School PTO and the Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Inc. Geared for parents, this workshop reviews the challenges that may arise through use of the Internet, social media and smart phones. It is important for parents to be aware of the popular apps, social media sites, and programs used by youth online.

City of Newton will offer new program for purchasing electricity; public meeting March 28

The City of Newton is developing a plan for a new electricity program called Newton Power Choice, which will provide an opportunity for Newton to significantly increase the amount of renewable energy in the community’s electricity supply. Newton Power Choice will use a form of group purchasing known as an electricity aggregation.

Do you like to get things done? Would you like to use your organizational skills to benefit a local non-profit?

Newton Community Farm is hiring an office administrator and events coordinator to keep operations running smoothly and put on their community events. NCF is a small, educational farm offering year round programming for pre-K through adults. The farm supports summer and late fall CSAs, an onsite farm stand, farmers’ market, and weekly donations to local food pantries.
