Special Education parent Q&A to be held on January 31, 6:00 p.m.

Come to a meet and greet with Special Education administrators Kate McCarthy (chair of the NNHS special ed department) and Katie Stahl (assistant chair) on January 31, 6:00-7:00 p.m., in the Film Lecture Hall. Elizabeth de Rivera (NNHS PTSO liaison to SEPAC*) and Alyssa Cohen (SEPAC chair) will also be there. Ask questions and share tips in a relaxed setting--all are welcome!

Global Educational Leadership Fund (GELF) is planning its 10th Anniversary Annual Benefit Dinner, scheduled for May 5, 2018. Come join us at our next planning meeting to get involved and to learn more about GELF, a fund that helps offset the cost of NSHS & NNHS programs for travel abroad and language exchange by providing scholarships to many students each year. We need your support in the planning for this fun community event; you can choose from brainstorming ideas for decorations, assisting with the au

PTSO funds cell phone experiment through Grants and Projects

Grants and Projects money was used to fund a request by history teacher Albert Cho to purchase a classroom set of Yondr pouches; the pouches disbable cell phones until they are unlocked using a special device. Mr. Cho plans to report back to the PTSO on how students respond to having their phones off limits during class. Hear a story about use of the pouches in Boston and at NNHS on NPR.

Get in on the fun! Celebration 2018 kick-off meeting to be held January 25 at 7:00 p.m.

Celebration, the PTSO’s annual post-prom party for all seniors, needs creative, organized, and fun adults to join forces to provide seniors with a cool post-prom party at Newton North. Parents/guardians of students in ALL grades are needed for Celebration to take place. If you have worked on Celebration in the past, you know how much fun it is--come back and bring friends! See you at Newton North in room 103 on January 25 at 7:00 p.m.! Have questions or want to volunteer?

New England Camp Fair set for February 11, 11:30 a.m., at Bigelow

If you have a child attending camp this summer, you don't want to miss this free event! The New England Camp Fair will be held on Sunday, February 11, from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., in the Bigelow Middle School gymnasium.

In the event of inclement weather, a snow date has been set for Sunday, March 4, same time. The camp fair is open to ALL local families.
