Newton Free Library offers events for teens in December

Teen Crafterhours, December 4, 7:00 pm, second floor Teen Area: Meet once a month a Monday night to make crafts and eat snacks. This week, make mittens out of felted wool and eat snacks! Grades 7-12.

Anime/Manga Club, December 6, 4:00 pm, Computer Center: Come meet on the first Wednesday of every month and hang out with lovers of all things anime! Activities will range from anime screenings, to discussion of our favorite series, manga share and swap, anime-themed crafts, cosplay workshops, art trades and more!  Yummy Japanese snacks will be served. Grades 6-12.

Vice Principal Amy Winston shares plans to use LibraryTrac in LLC

As we approach the December break, I am writing with an update on the NNHS Library Learning Commons. One of my responsibilities at NNHS is supervising and supporting the library and the librarians. This year I have also facilitated conversations with students regarding the LLC and have worked with students and staff to continually improve the atmosphere in the library while ensuring access to academic resources and support.

Class of 2018 TGIF breakfast lights up International Cafe

Teachers and staff enjoyed a special breakfast on December 8 hosted by 2018 class liaisons Kim Buckton, Michelle Markert, and Clare Norton. Attendees were treated to seasonal table decorations and an array of hot and cold breakfast items supplied by volunteers. The highlight of the event (during clean up) was an accidental stovetop fire speedily squelched by a quick-thinking volunteer. 

Prague Summer informational meeting set for January 11, 6:30 p.m.

Hello Newton Community,

We are happy to announce the Prague Summer Program. SInce 1990, we have travelled to Central Europe to experience the history and culture of Poland (Krakow), the Czech Republic (Prague) and Germany (Dresden and Berlin) first hand. This is an exciting opportunity for students to undertake an amazing trip while earning a semester's history credit (2.5 credits). See the brochure below.
