Deadline to apply for class of 2018 scholarships is January 26, 2018

The NNHS Scholarship Application for the class of 2018 is now online. Click here to apply or find the application on the NNHS website under the Announcements section and under the Families Tab entitled "2018 NNHS Senior Scholarship Application."

The due date is Friday, January 26, 2018.

Completing his application will make you eligible for more than 300 scholarships that NNHS awards. Most scholarships are need based.

Library Learning Commons to host open house during conferences on December 5, 2:00-5:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, December 5, from 2:00-5:00 p.m., we would like to invite parents/guardians to the Library Learning Commons (LLC) for our Parent Night Open House. Visit the LLC during your free block to learn more about what the library teachers do and what resources we have. Here are some highlights.

New Philharmonia Orchestra holiday program set for December 10 at 3:00 p.m.

On Sunday, December 10, at 3:00 p.m., the New Philharmonia Orchestra will present their annual holiday program CELEBRATIONS! at the First Baptist Church in Newton Centre (848 Beacon Street). This family-friendly concert will feature the All City Treble Singers performing holiday classics; students from the Boston Ballet School, Newton Studio, will dance to excerpts from "The Nutcracker." Following the concert will be our always popular Instrument Petting Zoo!

Attend Green Newton forum for parents and teachers on November 15, 3:45 p.m.

Green Newton is hosting a School Connections forum for Newton parents and teachers interested in promoting sustainability in the classroom and beyond. The group offers a setting for sharing experiences and ideas as well as support in facing challenges in implementing green initiatives in schools. This is an opportunity for parents and staff to connect on issues of recycling, composting and school garden projects. You are invited to the next meeting to learn more. Newton Community Preservation Committee will meet on November 16, 7:00 p.m.

The agenda for the CPC’s next meeting includes a public hearing on funding requested by the Newton Cemetery and updates on the Crescent Street project in Auburndale/West Newton (affordable housing and playground) and on proposed changes to the Newton Homebuyer Assistance Program.
